Size: 29" x 21" flange diameter - PortLight/Deadlight Porthole weight: 60# Ship particulars and information: Port of Registry - London Date Entered Texaco Service - 1959 Date Left Texaco Service - 1983 Subsequent Name(s) - TEXACO ROCHESTER 1967 Year Built / Builders - 1959 Chantier Naval Cockerill-Ougree, Hoboken, Belgium Length Overall - 667' 0" Breadth - 85' 0" Depth - 45'10" Loaded Draft - 34' 3" Deadweight - 31441 Engine Type - 2 double reduction geared turbine Power - 14,500 SHP Average Speed - 16 Notes - This ship was a younger sister of the last ship of the month, CALTEX CARDIFF. Old hands will remember her by this name. She was one of the ships that changed her name when Texaco Overseas Tankship Limited superseded Overseas Tankship Limited in 1967. The name was probably changed to as there may have been another with a similar name in the Caltex/Texaco organization. Note: I do have more portholes and artifacts from this ship as I shipped them from the Taiwan ship breaking yards back in the late 1980's and has just been in storage since then.
