    DULUTH "MISSABE & IRON RANGE R.R." MATCH BOX. Pre-Owned  The DM&IR Railway put out a few Matchbooks for advertising themselves and at least this one Match Box with the Stick Matches. This is not surprising because they were in operation for 137 years (1870 to 2011). The DM&IR or simply the "MISSABE" covered Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin transporting iron ore & taconite to the Lake Superior ports of Duluth and Two Harbors. From there the ore was shipped across the Great Lakes to Steel Mills in the east. This FULL STICK MATCH BOX has a drawing (on both sides) of two Missabe diesels pulling a string of ore cars. Yes, this Match Box will fit in most chip box display cases with your Matchbooks.
