Olsen Marine Wench Pulley Nautical Boat Ship Maritime Port Solid Brass Antique

Up for sale is a vintage brass wench of pulley of some sort.  I'm not exactly sure what this was used for but it is stamped "Olsen Marine Annapolis MD" on the bottom.  I don't believe this was a U.S. Navy item but the Annapolis Maryland manufacturer could indicate it was made for military use.  A great patina on the brass, this item appears to be in good condition and looks quite old--roughly World War II era by the appearance.  Please see pictures for reference and judge for yourself on it's use.  This is an original antique nautical item that would be great for decoration in a beach house or for use if you know how it connects to the ship.  It measures 8 inches across the base and stands about 6 inches.  It is solid brass and very heavy.
