Vintage & Original 19” Brass & Thick Glass Ships Porthole w Mermaid 59 Lbs Navy.
I don’t know much about the history of this item as it came from a very large navel collection. I assume either the mermaid was added to the original glass, or the glass was replaced. My best guess is that the glass is original judging by the way it looks including some little chips you’ll see in the close-up picture. I think someone just etched a mermaid on this. Shipping will be expensive to to size and weight but will be exact.
It does not have an original bolt holding the glass to the frame. Your best option would be to purchase a new and correct fitting bolt for this. This bolt holds it in place but a brass bolt would look 10 times better.
You are also welcome to pick this up at my warehouse in West Sacramento California. I’m next-door to a brewery, which is a bonus. If you pick it up I’ll also buy you a beer, if of age of course.
