Here is a great nautical piece for your buying consideration.  A vintage brass ship's porthole with the glass and dog ears intact.  Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!
This vintage brass and glass ship's porthole  came from the extensive  collection from a NJ estate.  We have  a number of that collector's marine/nautical items that will be listed soon for sale separately in our store (wood and resin figureheads, double glass electric lanterns, brass spotlights, Dumas Chris Craft remote control model w/ engine (similar to a 1241), a newer Celestron telescope, custom compass rose table and wall plaque and other lanterns).  The listing numbers will be noted below once they are published.
What a great ship's porthole for your collection or decor needs.  Still working on dating this piece and whom made it, but I would guess post WWI or WWII at this juncture.   You be the judge before acquiring.  Any help in getting that information more accurate would be much appreciated.   Your identity would be kept anonymous.
The brass and glass ship's porthole is very heavy.  Very little corrosion or pitting to the brass porthole frame.  The glass is intact on this porthole as well.  No cracks or blistering.    Slight chipping on the inside of the glass in a 1/4" area.  The door opens freely on the frame's hinge.   We did not see a maker's mark on the porthole.  The two dog ears are in place as are one of the nuts on them.
The Ship's Porthole is 17.5" tall, by 17.5" across, by 5-1/8" wide.  The glass is 11.75" across.
