very rare
vintage singlet includes the original
Sportco
(Portland, Oregon) label, and is tagged a "Medium" at the neckline. The singlet is 100% nylon, and measures approximately
21"
(measured from top of neckline to bottom hem) by
17"
(measured armpit-to-armpit). This red, white and blue vintage track and field singlet features screened-on
Nike
block lettering
on the white panel.

History
: Sportco produced a portion of the
Nike
Athletics West Club
singlets during the late 1970's-early 1980's era. This was during a time when Nike was still in its relative infancy, as they did not produce and tag all of their running apparel with Nike labels (I have sold a vintage Athletics West singlet that was made by Sportco.). I don't believe the offered singlet was available commercially in stores, and the singlet could very well have been Athletics West-related. This original 1970's
Nike Sportco
running singlet is a "survivor" from the 1970's running boom, as true vintage examples of these singlets are rarely found!!

: this highly collectible and vintage singlet shows barely any age/handling faults....
